Hooking Hallowe'en

Wow, what a hectic weekend that was... this hooker is exhausted! So here's what i got up to.....

So Saturday was (as im sure i mentioned) was our hallowe'en night out, so as soon as Mr Hook arrived back from work, i darted out the door, armed with my costume and overnight bag wooooo hooker hallowe'en sleepover!. And headed to catch the bus to Chez Itchy Crochet. Only to find our dog was still outside the shop next to the bus stop from when my MIL went about 45mins earlier lol... which i then ran back - well strutted - to the house with the dog. Once animals were returned, costumes had been carried, a bus had been caught, supplies beer - because we're classy  had been bought, i arrived rather eager for a drink, something to eat and to start getting our costumes on!
After some rather tasty "joker" stew, a couple of beers and a change of outfit and make up... off we went in the hunt for other costume clad folk, lively drinking establishments, good loud music and some dancefloor to fill......................

We slowly started to realise that it wasn't to be the raucous spook fest we were craving, so ended up on a mini pub crawl, many tipsy games of pool, and a mockery of a crocodile having a pee in mid air next to a post box. Don't ask.... some costumes really cant even cover the tiniest of things ;p

Back at Chez Itchy Crochet, more Joker stew was eaten... even if if was at a radioactive heat level.... a couple more beers helped cool it down. Off to bed at the very late hour of 1.30am! That is very very late for me these days.... i have a 2 year old
After a lovely sleep, toast and many a coffee, it was time for Mr Hook to come and pick me up (with mini Hook who was crying after seeing Itchy Crochets still wild and green hair) and off to my parents house via McDonalds to soak up the remaining alcohol we went to start the second half of the weekend antics.

Despite the cold weather and rain, my dad, in his infinite wisdom, thought it a good idea to drive to Blackpool to see the lights before they finish.... needless to say we did the obligatory walk round a couple of arcades in which Mini Hook became rather partial to the 2p fall machines, won a PINK (Even though Mr Hooks swears its purple) Giraffe and had a ride in a rocket before venturing outside again......... HOLY WIND AND RAIN BATMAN!!!!!!!!! And cold..... very very cold which even under a million layers and the rain cover on the buggy, mini hook was not happy.... so back to the car Once back in the car for a welcome tea break and warmth, we decided to drive along the front to see the lights..... which seemed to be much the same as previous years, and Mini Hook was more interested in the "boat" trams that were going past and playing with his light up stick thing.

After cuddles, a story and some Ovaltine, Mini Hook was totally flat out, and we weren't far behind him. Cuddles for Mr Hook, a brew in bed and the new episode of "Grimm" and we were out for the count too. Needless to point out that no hooking was achieved this weekend, shocking i know.

So, it may not seem that hectic to most people, but im not done yet...... tonight, i will be back at Chez Itchy Crochet, for a "Bra Party" instead of our weekly attempt to crochet and consume lots of pink plonk.

OH the pumpkins!!!!!!!!!! How could i forget the pumpkins?!
Early Saturday afternoon was spent pumpkin carving with Mini Hook.... he even drew his own "design" on the pumpkin before hand, then went all Mike Myers with the little pumpkin saw!!!

The rest of the week is going to be spent doing as much hooking as possible.... ive got mice, cats, pugs, choc orange puddings, slippers and much more to make... and a "craft fair" on Saturday! Oh my!

Have a very Hooking Happy Hallowe'en!!!!
